The August 2020 TRACEN Awards, held on September 5, 2020, were well attended. On a clear and sunny day, New Horizons was jam-packed with Coasties who received awards and recognition for their hard work and perseverance over the past month.
Opening remarks by CDR Julia Raymond, G3:
“I would first like to bring attention to a TRACEN Commanding Officer who has, along with her talented TRACEN staff, spent a great deal of time over the past couple of months translating her COMPLETE curriculum into two additional languages. They have accomplished this feat alongside regular training of students which has eased the learning possibilities for their students. It has improved the understanding and effectiveness of her program for not only English, but now Spanish and German speaking students! Please help me acknowledge and congratulate LCDR Jessica Razor and her MTC team on this amazing idea, initiative and implementation of her inclusive vision! WELL DONE Lieutenant Commander!”
Remarks by the Commandant, ADM Allian Blackwell:
Good day Guardians. It is great to see you all here. This is our chance to celebrate the awards of not only what we have learned but what we have achieved this month. Soon we will be adding SAR Ops to our Operations side, and I couldn’t be happier knowing that. Search and Rescue is all about our mission in this group. I feel it has more of a standing in this group now, as it should have had for so many years. We will learn and we will grow. I am consistently amazed by the talents, dedication and duty of those in this group. I have too many to thank for this honor but one day you’ll know who and what they have done.
SLCG Achievement (presented by ADM Allian Blackwell):
The SLCG Achievement Award is an individual award that we have used in the past to honor those who have made a contribution to the whole of SLCG, above and beyond the call of duty. Through this award, we say thank you for putting your heart and soul into the organization. And of course, for future nominees of this award, any leader may nominate someone and forward it up to their chain of command, much like it is done in RL.
